On the information of an informer, the police of Karimuddinpur police station in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested 8 members of the robber bride gang who committed robbery on the pretext of marriage near Bathor village. Police say that an FIR has been registered against them under criminal sections. Cases are already registered against them in many police stations.
In fact, in the name of arranging the marriage of plaintiff’s brother Rupesh Shakya, the gang members pretended to be fake relatives of each other and got fake Aadhaar cards made. After this, after fraudulently taking three grams of gold mangalsutra, clothes worth Rs 8200 and Rs 1 lakh in cash, they ran away with the bride and her belongings.

According to the police, they have already committed the crime of cheating people from districts like Haryana, Rajasthan, Jaipur, Uttar Pradesh etc. on the pretext of marriage and then marrying them and running away with valuables. The leaders of their gang are Harishchandra Yadav and Soni alias Najmunisha. Let us tell you that the police of Karimuddinpur police station was present at Shermath underpass of the police station area and on the information of a special informer, the accused Bhim Ram was arrested near village Bathor.

During his search, one Android phone was recovered. On the behest of accused Bhim, accused Kusum (bride), Krishnakant Ram, Karan Kumar, Ranjana, Soni alias Najmunisha, Geeta Devi, Indu Devi were arrested. All of them formed a gang and came to marry the same girl for the fourth time by making a false promise of marriage. Their method was that after marriage they would run away with the girl, her jewellery, money and expensive clothes. These people involved in the gang, despite belonging to different religions, used to carry out such robberies by pretending to be each other’s relatives.
