Why was Eknath Shinde forced to withdraw from the CM race? These factors did not work – Why was Eknath Shinde forced to withdraw from the Maharashtra CM race These factors did not work NTC
After the results of the assembly elections in Maharashtra, the tussle over the next CM continues. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde told a press conference that there is no hindrance from his side. He made it clear that whatever decision BJP takes will be acceptable to him. During his address, he also praised PM Modi and Shah. He said that I am a worker and we will support whatever decision is taken. In such a situation, the question now arises that why did Eknath Shinde come on the backfoot regarding the CM race?
Why did Shinde come on backfoot?
After the results were declared on November 23, speculation about the next Chief Minister had intensified. Along with Shiv Sena and NCP, claims about the CM also started being made by BJP. Shiv Sena and NCP also did pressure politics by electing the leader of their legislature party. But first NCP and now Shiv Sena are on the backfoot.
Actually, Mahayuti has got 230 seats out of 288 assembly seats. In this, BJP alone has won 132 seats, which is 13 seats less than the majority. If sources are to be believed, when BJP alone crossed 110 seats, Shiv Sena and NCP started realizing that their hold on the post of Chief Minister had weakened.
Even Maratha Face’s move didn’t work…
At the same time, an attempt was also made to create pressure regarding Eknath Shinde’s Maratha face. But the way BJP got votes from every section, it also worked to break this narrative. Fadnavis had missed becoming CM in 2019 and 2022. They are also getting benefit from this.

Shiv Sena explained to the MLAs
News is coming out that Eknath Shinde has explained to his MLAs and asked them to go to their respective constituencies, whereas Eknath Shinde has also declared himself a worker of Mahayuti. In such a situation, it is now clear that Devendra Fadnavis’s name can be approved.
Why did NCP support BJP?
At the same time, now the question arises that why Ajit Pawar’s NCP supported BJP. Actually, there are many reasons behind NCP’s support to BJP. Firstly, with this bet he will be on par with Shiv Sena. Secondly, they also know that BJP’s numbers are higher. In such a situation, he is entitled to become CM. Let us tell you that Mahayuti had got 230 seats out of 288 in Maharashtra.
