BCCI said in a statement, ‘The first home match of the defending champions RCB will be held on February 21 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium where they will face the former champions Mumbai Indians.’
Lucknow, which is hosting the league for the first time, will host four matches of home team UP Warriors from March 3. “The final phase of the tournament will be held in Mumbai with the prestigious Cricket Club of India (CCI) hosting the final two league matches and two play-off matches – the Eliminator (March 13) and the final,” the release said.
The teams topping the table will enter the finals directly while the second and third placed teams will face off in eliminators to compete in the finals. Continuing the format of the previous season, there will be a single match each day.
