More than 150 companies and more than 30 thousand policemen of paramilitary forces will be deployed before the assembly elections to be held in Delhi on February 5. Special CP (Crime) Devesh Chandra Srivastava said that Delhi Police are committed to ensure fair and peaceful elections. The arrangement before the election has already been made. The borders from Delhi are constantly being investigated.

Special CP (Crime) said that in the past, records of drugs and alcohol have been seized with cash. About 3 thousand polling stations have been identified as sensitive. Drone will be used at some of these places. The deployment of additional police force for sensitive booths will be ensured. Quick response teams (QRT) will also be deployed to maintain peace, law and order.

Last month, Delhi Police held an inter-state coordination meeting with various law enforcement agencies to discuss security arrangements in the national capital. The meeting chaired by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora was attended by senior police officers of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir.

A police officer said, “During the meeting, senior officers of Delhi Police requested more than 150 paramilitary forces companies and cyber expert officers to maintain strict monitoring. More than 30 thousand police personnel will be deployed for voting. ” All the officials exchanged intelligence and input on various security matters.

In this, it was resolved to strengthen anti -terrorism measures including border check and verification of suspected persons. According to Delhi Police data, more than 1000 cases of alleged violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) have been registered before the Delhi Assembly elections on 5 February. These cases have been registered between 7 January to 2 February.

A total of 33 thousand 434 people have been arrested under various legal provisions including Excise Act during this period. Before the election, the police has increased vigilance on border posts. Weapons are tightened on illegal activities including liquor and smuggling of drugs. Delhi Police has registered 1049 cases of MCC violation. 462 illegal weapons have been seized.

Apart from this, law enforcement agencies have seized 1 lakh 8 thousand 258 liters of liquor and arrested 1353 people. Along with this, 196.602 kg of drugs worth more than Rs 77.9 crore have been seized. More than 1200 banned injections have also been seized, in which 177 people have been arrested so far. 11.23 crore cash has also been seized.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (External) Sachin Sharma said that police teams are involved in many activities, such as putting police selfie points and encouraging every qualified voter to vote. He said, “Apart from maintaining law and order, we are also implementing various initiatives to ensure peaceful voting in our field. All the officers have been instructed.”
