Senior journalist and Ayodhya correspondent of Aaj Tak/India Today, Banbir Singh is no more. He died of a heart attack in the early hours of Tuesday (January 7). Banbir was associated with Aaj Tak for almost two decades.

Banbir was found dead at his Ayodhya residence. He was alone at his home on Monday night. He was found dead in the morning. After examination, doctors confirmed heart attack. Banbir had made his mark as a fearless and combative journalist in the last three decades in Ayodhya Faizabad division.

Came into limelight by covering terrorist attack

Banbir Singh, who came into limelight by first reporting the terrorist attack on Ram Janmabhoomi in 2005, had created a distinct identity in the world of journalism. Banbir had covered every moment’s reporting from the Ram Janmabhoomi movement to the decisions taken on Ram Janmabhoomi and the construction of the temple.

He started journalism in Ayodhya district in 1998 with Aaj newspaper. After a few years, around 2003, Banbir Singh joined Hindustan newspaper. After working in different newspapers for seven years, when Ram Janmabhoomi was attacked by terrorists in 2005, Banbir worked for TV and started reporting for Aaj Tak.

Banbir created a unique identity in Ayodhya

Banbir Singh, who was associated with Aaj Tak for almost two decades, was basically an investigative journalist. After joining Aaj Tak in July 2005, Banbir did many investigative reports. Banbir had created a unique identity in Ayodhya by working hard continuously.

People knew Banbir as a fighting and hard-working journalist as well as a wonderful human being. Due to his cheerful nature and kind heart, Banbir remained most popular among journalists. Along with the journalist world, senior officials and politicians of Faizabad Ayodhya division have expressed grief over the death of Banbir Singh.
