According to Pakistani media house Dawn, the incident occurred at 9 am on Thursday (January 9). When 17 laborers associated with the mining project were leaving in a minibus at 9 in the morning. It is being told that this minibus was stopped by some armed people on Dara Tang Road and after threatening them they took away 17 laborers including the driver with them.

Special search operation is being conducted

As soon as the local police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got information about this incident, they started the search operation. After a struggle that lasted for a few hours, 8 out of 17 laborers were recovered. Of these, 3 have also suffered some injuries. Police and security officials of the district are running a special search operation to recover the remaining workers.

Pakistani media is claiming that this kidnapping incident has been carried out by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the organization has also taken responsibility for it. After kidnapping, many videos of laborers are going viral on social media of Pakistan. In these videos, the kidnapped laborers are demanding from the Pakistan government to release the TTP terrorists from jail.
