A surprising case has come to light from Bijnor in UP. A pair of pythons, 15 feet long and weighing one and a half quintals, have been rescued from a tunnel built in a field.
This incident took place in Nawada village, where a python was camping in a farmer’s field for the last several days. Seeing the python, the farmer immediately informed the forest department.
The Forest Department team reached the village on Thursday and started the campaign to rescue the python. Both pythons lived in a one feet wide tunnel in the field and used to come out of the tunnel to seek warmth in the afternoon sun. The farm owner and village head had complained about this to the forest department.
Python rescued in two hours
After a lot of effort, the forest department team dug a pit with a JCB and after about 2 hours, the male and female python pair were taken out safely. The captured python is about 15 feet long and weighs more than one and a half quintals. The forest department team will release both the pythons in the forest.

Regarding this matter, Regional Forest Officer Mahesh Gautam said that the village head of Nawada had informed that a pair of pythons were living by making a tunnel in the field. On Thursday, after a lot of effort, the Forest Department team rescued him and took him out.
The official said that these are rock pythons, which were in winter migration. Pulling them out is a very difficult task, hence rescue was done by making a pit. Both the pythons have been released in the reserved forest area Rampur Thakra.
