Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, producer Dinesh Vijan and director Laxman Utekar launched the trailer of छावा at a grand event at Mumbai’s popular single-screen theatre, Plaza. Vicky had a road show which caught widespread attention before coming to Plaza. The excitement at the trailer launch was tremendous as fans of Vicky and Rashmika couldn’t keep calm.

During the question-and-answer round with the media, Vicky Kaushal was asked how he prepared for the role. Dinesh Vijan reminded the journalist that Vicky is the son of action director Sham Kaushal. Dinesh quipped, “First of all, action is in his blood! Let’s get that straight.”
Vicky Kaushal began by saying, “The last action film I did was Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019). Since then, I have been dying to do action. I didn’t know that he would ride a horse and The sword and the spear will move meEverything was new. I didn’t know how to ride a horse and had to learn that. I also learned how to fight with swords and spears. I trained for 6 months. I had to gain weight, from 80 kgs to 105 kgs. In short, I gained 25 kgs for this role. Before we went on floors, we trained extensively in action. Joji and Pervez sir supported me a lot.”
Vicky then said, “We shot a major chunk in Wai. It can be seen in the teaser as well. It was filmed in scorching hot weather with 2000 extras and 500 stuntmen. It was also the month of Ramzan. Many of these stuntmen used to film action in such circumstances, that too while fasting. They did that to show the glory of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.” As expected, there was applause from the fans and media.
Vicky Kaushal continued, “When I used to see something like this, I used to tell Laxman sir, ‘How cool are you, it’s like this feeling aa rahi hai’And I feel a bit embarrassed to speak about the prep.
