French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed new US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the re-opening ceremony of Notre-Dame de Paris on Saturday night. Earlier, Zelensky met US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the situation in Ukraine. Zelensky said on Twitter that he had a good and positive meeting with both the leaders.
President Trump is as determined as ever: Zelensky
Zelensky said, I had a good meeting with President Trump and President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace. President Trump is as determined as ever. I thank him. I also express my gratitude to Emmanuel for organizing this important meeting. We all want this war to end as soon as possible and in a just manner. We talked about our people, the situation on the ground and a just peace. We agreed to continue working together and maintain contact. Peace is possible through strength.
French President Emmanuel Macron said, we are proud of the friendship between America and France. There are many challenges before us which we have to face together.
Ukraine stands with the Georgian people: Zelensky
Volodymyr Zelensky and Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili met on Saturday ahead of the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Zelensky told Zourabichvili that Ukraine supports the path chosen by Georgia and its people towards EU and NATO membership.
Zelensky said, we have specifically imposed sanctions on those who were pushing the independent Georgian people on the other side on the path to Russia. Zelensky on Thursday imposed sanctions on former Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and some members of Georgia’s government.
