A 14 -year -old girl was gang -raped in an empty madrasa hostel in Kadmatla area of ​​North Tripura, the police gave this information on Sunday. The incident occurred on Saturday night when the girl living in Kurti village of Dharmagar subdivision was going to attend the wedding ceremony of a relative in the same area.

Jayant Debnath, in-charge of Kadamtala police station, said, “Two people, including a minor, kidnapped him and took him to the nearby Madrasa hostel, where he raped him in turn.” Later he left him and ran away.

19 -year -old daily wage laborer arrested
When the girl returned home and told her parents her tragedy, angry villagers started searching and the same night an accused, 19-year-old daily wage laborer caught her house.

He said, ‘The villagers handed over the accused to us. We have arrested him for his alleged involvement in the case. A search operation has been started to catch other accused.

Debnath said that the victim’s medical examination has been done and her condition has been stated. He said, “We have registered a case against both of them under strict POSCO Act and further investigation is on.”
