The Waqf Amendment Bill is being introduced in the Lok Sabha today. The NDA and its allied parties are united to pass this bill, while India block is against it. In the House, Nitish Kumar’s party JDU and Chandrababu Naidu’s party TDP have supported the bill.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Krishna Prasad Teenanti said that Waqf has assets of more than 1.2 lakh crores. These properties are victims of misminent. Our party believes that this property should be used for the welfare of Muslims, for the welfare of women. We believe that it should improve. We were the first party to demand JPC.
Waqf Bill gets TDP’s support
He said that more than 97 lakh communication was done. Revised Bill came up with 14 amendments. Our party had given three suggestions and all three suggestions have been considered which ensure the safety of the interests of Muslims. The Telugu Desam Party is determined for the welfare, upliftment of Muslims. We appeal to the government that the state governments should get exemption to decide the composition of the Waqf Board and should be allowed to make rules. We support the Waqf Bill.
JDU supported the bill
At the same time, JDU MP and Panchayati Raj Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh in the Central Government said that efforts are being made to make it that this bill is anti -Muslim. This bill is not anti -Muslim from anywhere. What is a Muslim organization? Waqf is not a religious institution, a trust that works for the welfare of Muslims. The trust should have the right to do justice to people of all classes which are not happening. It is a regulatory and an administrative body which works for the rights of Muslims.
‘If you do not like Modi’s face, do not look at him’
He said, ‘If you are cursing Modi ji, do not like his face, do not look at him. You have worked to bring transparency by finishing the sin you committed in 2013. The people of the country like Modi ji, so Modi ji works to work for every section of the society. Modi ji today removed Waqf from your clutches and threw it towards the common Muslim to work for his welfare.
‘Those who capture Waqf against the bill’
Lalan Singh said, ‘Two types of people are against it- one who works for votes, the other who was occupied by Waqf. There is no reason for opposition to this amendment. There is no talk of intervention from anywhere in Waqf’s work. The amendment has come to monitor the waqf’s income in the right place, to keep an eye on it. What is the problem in this? Are you opposed to the welfare of Muslims? Modi ji is talking about making the country a developed India with secularism, giving rights to Muslim women. You want to divide the country and keep it in clutches for vote bank.
