Married to policeman son on Valentine’s Day now newlywed dies under suspicious circumstances lclcn
A 24-year-old newly married woman has died under suspicious circumstances in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased was married to the son of a policeman just 10 months ago on Valentine’s Day. The deceased’s maternal family allege that her in-laws murdered her for not giving additional dowry of Rs 5 lakh. Police said that information was received about the deceased falling from the roof. At present the post-mortem is being conducted after taking possession of the body.
According to the father of the deceased, his father Govind Singh had married Vivek Yadav, son of Bharat Singh Yadav, resident of Kumhar ka Kuan under Nawabad police station of Jhansi district, on 14 February 2024 i.e. Valentine’s Day as per Hindu customs. It is alleged that after marriage, Mohini came to her in-laws’ house. Everything went well for some time, but as time passed, the husband and in-laws started demanding additional dowry of Rs 5 lakh. When his demand was not met, he started being harassed.

Daughter had called and expressed fear of murder
Many times an attempt was made to convince them by calling a social panchayat, but little did they know that their daughter would leave this world. Yesterday, daughter Mohini’s mother received a call asking her to take her away otherwise she would be killed. By the time she reached Jhansi after hearing this, Mohini had died. He suspects that his daughter has been murdered. This information has been given to the police.
‘Rs 5 lakh was being demanded in dowry’
The father and grandfather of the deceased say that my daughter Mohini Yadav has died. The daughter got married 10 months ago on 14 February 2024. She was tortured and killed for dowry. A demand of Rs 5 lakh was being made from him. When her demand was fulfilled, she was often taunted whether she would keep him as a maid or kill him.

City Kotwal Ramveer Singh said that a girl living in the potter’s well of Nawabad police station area fell from the roof. The family took him to a private hospital. Where he died during treatment. But it is not clear how she fell. At present, the body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. A case will be registered after receiving the complaint from the family members.
