Now the preliminary investigation report in this matter has been submitted to the government by the RTO department. According to which, no problem was found in the bus which was the victim of the accident. However, the final report of this case is yet to come.

According to Ravi Gaikwad, Joint Commissioner of the RTO Department, the RTO officials will take time and submit the final report of their investigation. No problem of any kind was found in the bus. RTO has prepared this report and presented it before the BEST administration.

The most important thing is that in this case on Tuesday, the police had told the court that in this incident, it is possible that the driver may have used the bus as a weapon, there is a need to investigate from this angle also. According to PTI, the police believe that Sanjay More, the driver of the bus involved in this fatal accident, had deliberately used the bus as a weapon to commit this act.

To facilitate the investigation, the court has sent 54-year-old bus driver Sanjay More to police custody till December 21. This incident happened on Monday at around 9.30 pm in Kurla area of Mumbai. The bus, operated by civic-run Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), had hit several vehicles and pedestrians in the densely populated area.

Soon after the incident, bus driver Sanjay More was detained on the spot and later arrested. He is charged under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Justice Code as well as relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.

During the court hearing, the police argued that the alleged crime was of a serious nature, which required a thorough investigation of Sanjay More’s intentions. The police stressed the need to determine whether the bus was driven deliberately and recklessly to endanger the lives of people.

The police also said they would investigate whether More had undergone proper training. Was he under the influence of drugs at the time? And was there any conspiracy behind the incident? Police mentioned that the transport department has not yet conducted a technical examination of the bus involved in the accident. The police stressed the need to prove whether Sanjay More was carrying a bus like a weapon in a crowded urban area.

However, Sanjay More’s defense lawyer Samadhan Sulen countered the police argument, arguing that the accident could have been caused by a technical fault in the bus, such as mechanical failure or short circuit. He argued that it was the responsibility of the administration to ensure whether the vehicle is roadworthy before handing over the vehicle to the drivers.

The accused bus driver’s lawyer Sulen also told the court that Sanjay More was given proper training and his record was also clean, he used to drive the bus regularly without any previous accident.
