Delhi Police has busted an interstate drug gang. Three members of the gang have been arrested. On whose notice the raw material used in the production of heroin and other narcotics has been seized in large quantities. Now the police is interrogating the three accused. Delhi Police made this disclosure on Friday.
Delhi Special Police Commissioner Devesh Chandra Srivastava told PTI in this regard that the accused have been identified as Jafar, Ahmed and Furkan. The drug paraphernalia seized from the possession of these three included 650 kg sodium carbonate anhydrous, 39 kg acetic anhydride and 3.2 kg calcium oxide.
The police officer further said that these chemicals are important precursors for the synthesis of narcotics like heroin. According to the police, after the arrest of Shakib Hussain, the police have also arrested other members of the gang. During interrogation, Hussain had revealed that Walidad Khan was his supplier.
In March this year, Walidad was arrested from Amroha, after which raw materials used in the production of narcotics were recovered. This arrest also revealed the involvement of Furkan and Zafar and other smugglers in the supply chain.
The police officer said that further investigation identified Zafar as the main supplier of the raw material and a team was formed to nab him. Later he was caught in Bareilly on 1 October. Based on his disclosure, Ahmed and Furkan were also arrested on November 28 from Ghazipur and Amroha respectively. Currently, further investigation is going on in the entire matter.
