India refused to bow down, kept its stand firm
During commander level talks between the two countries, situations of deadlock also arose many times. Diplomatic talks were held during this period, but in the talks held during the last four years, India refused to bow down at any level. India’s stand regarding patrolling in Depsang and Demchok remained clear.
India’s emphasis on maintaining the status of 2020
India clearly gave a message to China that returning to the situation of April 2020 would be the first step towards a solution. In the last few years, India’s growing power on the global stage and especially the successful organization of the G20 summit put pressure on China, due to which China was forced to retreat. Apart from G20, India’s importance in BRICS, SCO and Quad also forced China to retreat.
