Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Gogi from Ludhiana, Punjab has died after being shot. Gogi was AAP MLA from Ludhiana West assembly constituency. According to the police, after being shot, doctors examined him in the hospital, after which he was declared dead.
According to the news agency, the police have said that this incident happened late night (12 o’clock) on Friday. After being shot, AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi was brought to DMC Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Had joined AAP in 2022
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja told the news agency that it is too early to say anything regarding the death of the MLA. Investigation is ongoing. Let us tell you that Gogi had joined Aam Aadmi Party in 2022. He had defeated former two-time Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu from Ludhiana during the assembly elections in Punjab.
Supporters started gathering outside the hospital
After the death of Aam Aadmi Party MLA, his supporters have started gathering outside DMC Hospital in Ludhiana. In view of the incident, heavy police force has been deployed outside the hospital. At present the police is not giving any open information in this matter. According to police officials, he died due to bullet injury. However, the police is not telling under what circumstances he was shot.
AAP MLA expressed grief over the demise
Aam Aadmi Party leaders have also started reacting to the death of MLA Gurpreet Gogi. Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Amritsar East, Jeevan Jyot Kaur has expressed grief over Gogi’s demise by posting on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He has written that this incident is not only shocking but also unbelievable. Our fellow MLA Gurpreet Gogi is no more with us. May God rest his soul in peace.
