Reacting to the remarks, Kapoor said, “I completely agree with your opinion. As an actor, it is our responsibility to bring movies which bring a positive change to society. Having said that, I’m an actor, it’s very important that I also dabble in different genres and play varied roles. But what you are saying is absolutely correct. We have to be more responsible towards the kind of films we make.”
Mixed Reception for Animals
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animals is an action drama that explores themes of family dynamics, toxic masculinity, and redemption. The film has been both praised for its intense performances and criticized for its graphic violence and depictions of misogyny. Featuring a stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri, the film opened to mixed reviews.
Ranbir’s Journey in Sanju
Released in 2018, Sanjudirected by Rajkumar Hirani, is a biographical film based on the tumultuous life of actor Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Dutt earned him widespread acclaim. The film also starred Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, and Anushka Sharma, among others. However, it faced criticism for allegedly glorifying Dutt’s controversies.
