‘Return Nehru’s letters written to Edwina, JP, Einstein’, PM Museum’s letter to Rahul Gandhi – nehru memorial member rizwan qadri asks rahul gandhi to return jawaharlal nehru letters and papers ntc
Rizwan Qadri, member of the Prime Minister’s Museum and Library (PMML) Society, has written a letter to Rahul Gandhi. In this letter he has said that ’51 boxes’ of documents related to Jawahar Lal Nehru should be returned. Qadri has sought Rahul Gandhi’s help in returning important documents, which are related to Jawaharlal Nehru and are ‘kept with Sonia Gandhi’.
Qadri alleges that in 2008, during the UPA regime, Nehru’s personal letters packed in 51 boxes were delivered to Sonia Gandhi. Nehru wrote these letters to Edwina Mountbatten, Albert Einstein, Jayaprakash Narayan, Padmaja Naidu, Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, Aruna Asaf Ali, Babu Jagjivan Ram and Govind Ballabh Pant etc. PMML member Rizwan Qadri had written a letter to Rahul Gandhi on December 10. Earlier, he had also written a letter to Sonia Gandhi in September.
Given to Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in 1971
PMML believes that these are documents of historical importance and access to them is essential. These letters were given by the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial to the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (now PMML) in 1971. Now Rahul Gandhi has been asked to either get the original letter from Sonia Gandhi or get its photocopy or digital copy.
