Rotis made by spitting served to devotees in religious fair, 2 arrested – spitting on rotis in Uttarakhand Bageshwar 2 men nabbed lcly

A case of making rotis by spitting has come to light at a stall in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. At present, on the complaint of local people, the police have arrested two people and are interrogating the matter. A police officer gave this information to a news agency.

Police said on Sunday that two people from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested for spitting on rotis at a food stall set up in the ongoing Uttarayan Fair in Bageshwar. Bageshwar Superintendent of Police Chandrashekhar Ghodke said that the two were arrested after a video capturing the act at Numaish Khet grounds surfaced on social media.

Roti was being served to the devotees

The accused have been identified as Aamir (30) and Firasat (25), who have been sent to Almora jail. SP said that this was confirmed after the video of two youths spitting on the rotis being served to the devotees who had come to take bath in the Uttarayan fair in Bageshwar surfaced on social media. Bageshwar District Magistrate Ashish Bhatgai said that the incident took place on January 17.

Seeing the possibility of deteriorating law and order situation in the district, we took immediate action and the accused were arrested. SP said that the shop where the incident took place has been closed. Bageshwar Food Safety Officer Lalit Mohan Pandey said that a case will be registered against both of them on Monday under sections of the Food Safety Act.
