In the case of murder of a woman in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, the court has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. The fast-track court in Kairana has given this punishment to the accused of murder of a woman in 2020. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the culprit.
According to the report of the news agency, government lawyer Sanjay Chauhan said that the court of Judge Ritu Nagar has sentenced Lal Singh after holding him guilty in the murder of Anita. This incident took place on September 11, 2020 in Bhenswak village of Gahar Pukhra police station area.
Anita had asked for the return of the money lent to Lal Singh, which had become the reason for the murder. The lawyer told that there was already enmity between the two and this enmity had further increased the dispute. On the night of 11 September, Anita was sleeping in her house when Lal Singh attacked her with a sharp weapon. Anita died on the spot in this attack.
Police investigation had revealed that Lal Singh had borrowed money from Anita and the dispute over returning the money took the form of murder. After investigation of the case, Lal Singh was arrested and sent to jail.
In its decision, while sentencing the convict to life imprisonment, the court said that such incidents are fatal for the society and such crimes can be stopped only with strict punishment.
